Photo's From the construction of the little Free Libraries

A few students from each fifth grade class were given the opportunity to help design and paint a “Little Free Library”. A former Hiawatha student is involved in working with this project where a wooden box is filled with books where anyone in the community can stop by, pick up a book or two and bring back another to share. This project, called the “Little Free Library”, was created to promote reading and literacy in the community.

Students really enjoyed creating whimsical designs and painting bright cheerful colors all over the box. The box will be stationed at Guthridge Park across the street from Hiawatha School.

We hope that many people will stop and enjoy the artwork along with reading and sharing their favorite books!   https://web.archive.org/web/20150130025630/http://hiawatha.cr.k12.ia.us/little-free-library2/  November 20, 2014 07:05 PM
