ICON 37

ICON Iowa(37)was fun again this year.
I saw Wylde Nept for the 1st time. I enjoyed hearing their music. I saw people who I only see once a year at ICON, and I also met some new, interesting people.
I bought a limited edition sketch that Mike Cole created of the late Rusty Hevelin. My 1st ICON (35, or 2010) was the last one Rusty attended. That was also the first science fiction, Anime, or fan convention that I EVER went to... I have made it to every ICON since then!
I learned that the "Hevelin Collection of pulps, fanzines, convention materials, and science fiction books spanning 1930s-2010s, is now part of the University of Iowa Special Collections & University Archives." I found out about Rusty's archive website at ICON 37 too! The panel who talked to us about him and the collection were interesting.
I signed up for next year's 2013 ICON. I was also appointed the Director of Public Relations for ICON 38... to be continued!!!
ICON 38 will be on
November 15-17, 2013
